Races for children from toddlers up to age 11 are held on a specially prepared track at the eastern side of the sports field.These are extremely popular and begin at 2pm prompt and last for about an hour.
In each race every participating child receives a rosette and a lolly, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions receiving small monetary prizes.
The races are as follows:
Sprint Races
Toddlers (under 4 years)
Boys and girls age 4-5 years, 6-7 years, 8-9 years and 10-11 years.
“There and Back Race” Boys and girls, 8-9 years and 10-11 years.
Bean Bag and Bucket Races
Boys and girls 4 – 5 years
Sack Races
Boys and Girls, 6-7 years, 8-9 years and 10-11 years.
Mums and Dads
Finally there is a sprint race for the Mums and Dads with the first in each race getting a prize.
Children’s races are for all children who are still at primary school or due to start Secondary School in the following September. If this is the final year your child is eligible to enter these races then he / she may also enter the Junior Track Races.
